International Women’s Day – Morning Teal

Happy International Women’s Day!
What a milestone of a day it is Rare Ovarian Cancer (ROC) Incorporated has been going a month today. ??

Today I (Tasha) also had my first experience at attending a Morning Teal at NSW Parliament.

What an amazing experience with a room full of truly inspiring people and their stories of how ovarian cancer has touch them.

My morning started off with a chat to Anna De Fazio. Head of the Gynaecological Oncology Research Laboratory at the Centre for cancer research. Her passion to change the future of patient treatment for Ovarian Cancer had me smiling and nodding with hope. Anna received my Strength rock.

Today was hosted by Yasmin Catley member for Swansea and shadow minister for Innovation and better regulations. What a warm and caring person and wanted to know my daughters story and our journey we have been through. I gave her the believe rock.

Brad Hazzard NSW Minister for Health and Minister for Medical research, he made a very valid point of something that needs to be addressed and change made to make this clear to all women. When screening for cervical cancer this test DOES NOT test for ovarian cancer! Brad received my Wish rock.

Caitlin Delaney an ovarian cancer survivor. You shared your story and I could feel the tears running down my face as you spoke. It was a tough story to hear. You are a brave and amazing women. Caitlin got my Dream rock.

Heather Hawkins an ovarian cancer survivor I missed you speaking at the breakfast but did get to chat to you one on one! WOW what an amazing and inspiring lady. In 4 weeks time she is going to run 250 klms in the 2018 Marathin DES Sables across the Sahara desert over 10days! Caitlin has my Hope rock.
