My name is Vicki Lee, and I am really looking forward to participating in this ride and raising some well needed money towards cancer research.

As a breast cancer survivor of 7 years, I fully understand the heartache of enduring cancer treatment.  I lost my beloved husband to leukemia in 2015 as well, so I can fully understand just what Claire and others are going through.

I consider myself lucky and am grateful that I managed pretty well through chemotherapy, surgery and radium.  I fronted up at oncology every week in a different fancy dress outfit (sometimes not feeling 100%).  The nurses were always eager to see what character I presented to them each week.

I am the Easter Bunny in the middle of my profile photo, along with my mum and friend Kim, who I met during chemo treatment.  We were both battling breast cancer, and Kim is still having treatment 8 years on from her initial diagnosis.

So, 7 years on and I am happily travelling around in my campervan with my trusty bike exploring rail trails in our beautiful country – especially the Brisbane Valley Rail Trail.

I initially met Peter when I was living in Rockhampton about 23 years ago, and used to run with Peter and Claire in the Rocky Road Runners.  I spent 7 fun filled years living in Rockhampton and Yeppoon where I spent many hours pounding the pavement in my running days – hence the transfer to a bike (much easier on the knees).

I am a very happily retired police officer and living in North Lakes, QLD.

  1. I have had the pleasure of meeting and working with the most beautiful souls, who happen to be battling cancer and its been my privilege to be able to laugh with them and smile together.

  2. Never give up. With 3 daughters of your own and 3 grandaughters – this is a wonderful thing you are doing to help research.

  3. I am donating because my new friend Vicki’reached out to me and gave me words of encouragement as I went through my breast cancer treatment. Thank you Vicki❣️
