Ride 4 Research 2022 (R4R) riders have completed the last leg of the ride on Saturday 18 June 2022. 12 riders lead by R4R organiser Peter Reaburn set out from Canberra on 30 April to cycle 900km in 9 days, however the ride was cut short by two days as there was a COVID outbreak among the riders and support crew. Claire’s Swimathon, taking the plunge for Rare Ovarian Cancer research

80 swimmers and over $15,000 raised for research into rare ovarian cancer. ROC Inc Swim for Claire was hosted by Gold Coast’s Miami Masters Swim Club at the Miami Aquatic Centre. A fun-filled and very social event with many laps covered. Juvenile Granulosa Cell Tumour (JGCT) survivor Claire Reaburn, and national masters record holder swam with her daughter Rebecca Who swam 3 km and husband Peter 60 x 50m on 60s. GCT Ovarian Cancer Research Funded by YOU!

Congratulation and thank you to everyone that has helped raise our target of $30,000 for ovarian cancer research. The $30,000 raised is going to champion world class Granulosa Cell Tumour researchers Dr Simon Chu and Professor Peter Fuller and their team at the Hudson Institute of Medical Research for Whole Genome Sequencing of GCT tumour samples. GCT a rare ovarian cancer that has two sub types adult GCT (aGCT) and juvenile GCT (jGCT). A first for jGCT research. This research will impact so many lives.
