It could be anything that involves riding any bike – indoors or outdoors, at home or in a gym or at a pool, on a road bike a mountain bike, a tandem bike or recumbent bike, round your suburb or town, on a velodrome, bike path, road or rail trail or bush track, on the flat or up a hill or mountain! When you register, you’ll be able to set up your own fundraising page following the prompts. You can set a fundraising target for yourself, or your team. Your fundraising money goes towards funding research grants into rare ovarian cancer. These are projects that aim to save the lives of females of all ages, not just older women. So little is known about rare ovarian cancer that early detection, diagnosis, and treatment is hit and miss. Your registration and fundraising dollars will go to world leading researchers in Australia who are researching rare ovarian cancers.
Donations made to your fundraising page are tax deductible, and your supporters will receive an automated receipt via email which they can use at tax time.
The physical RIDE FOR RESEARCH 2022 will be undertaken by 16 male and female riders who have already been selected by ROCInc to participate. We keep the numbers for this ride capped to ensure we remain safe on the road, and manageable off the road! Therefore, involvement is by invite only. If you would like to be considered for future RIDE FOR RESEARCH rides, please reach out via the contact form and let us know a bit about yourself and why you think the physical ride is for you!
